AmbassadorsAnother way you can show support for Cottage by the Sea is by becoming an Ambassador or a Good Will Ambassador.
Cottage by the Sea would like to increase community awareness of its aims and work with children. Ambassadors are given information about Cottage by the Sea, its structure and current needs. It is most important that the information Ambassadors relay is accurate. They can then talk to schools, corporate and community groups to tell listeners about Cottage by the Sea.
Ambassadors can answer questions about the work of the Cottage and the constant need for funds, and they can suggest ways in which funds can be raised. If you are interested in supporting Cottage by the Sea and enjoy speaking to small (or large) groups, or organising fundraising events, you may like to consider becoming an Ambassador.

Ambassador Program
Earlier this year the development of an expanded Ambassador Program was proposed by Cottage Board Member Dennis Smart. The aim of this program was to attract interesting, motivated people who could promote and raise funds for the Cottage and who could work side by side and complement the existing great work done by the Branches and other Cottage supporters. These people would be known as Ambassadors for Cottage by the Sea.
I was appointed to co-ordinate this program with Dennis as my liaison to the Board. Enthusiastically, I embraced the challenge to make this program a dynamic, viable part of the organisation. Areas where there could be greater representation and where the interests of the Cottage could be spread far and wide were identified. These included the arts, local business, education and sport. A process has been set up to identify possible candidates who show an interest in the Cottage. They are encouraged to visit, see what we do, speak with the staff and management and if successful, are followed up with an invitation to join our team. To date we have had two acceptances and I am thrilled to introduce our most recent Ambassadors - Jade Augustine and Amanda Flynn.
It has been a successful start to the program and there are other names in the melting pot to be pursued.
We look forward to working with the Cottage staff and Board in further developing the Ambassador Program to support the children who need and access what the Cottage has to offer. Jan Wilkinson
