Freeman Program
Cottage by the Sea now offers five different camp programs, ranging from
respite camps to ongoing, three-year programs. Download

The Freeman program,
involving our
patron Catherine Freeman, and in partnership with the Catherine Freeman
Foundation, works in conjunction with the Take a Break or REEF programs.
Children from Palm Island (where Catherine’s mother comes from) come to Cottage
by the Sea to share in a camp with indigenous children from Victorian
communities.
The children take part in camps similar to the Take a Break and enjoy a
wonderful seaside holiday in an environment and culture very different to their
own. It is a time for sharing, for learning and for making new friends from
different backgrounds. AIMS
The Freeman Program at Cottage by the Sea aims to provide a platform for
children to develop and display:
- positive self-esteem and confidence
- socialisation skills and communication
- community spirit
- sporting skills and interests,
Most importantly, the program aims to broaden the horizons of all those
involved
