Our Stories
This week at Cottage, 8 Mentors participated in a morning of driver education.
The morning started with a short presentation from the RACV’s Youth Motoring program before the team from ‘I drive safely’ arrived to take the Mentors for a drive on the roads around Queenscliff.
After a quick introduction to Craig, Lisa and Robin, the Mentors were partnered with an instructor.
There were a few nervous but excited faces as the children hopped into the cars and headed out to start their driving experience.
Once out of the Cottage grounds, the Mentors drove around Queenscliff before finding an area to practice the dreaded reverse parallel park.
When the Mentors arrived back at Cottage, it was all smiles as they shared their experience with each other and how easy parallel parking could be if taught properly.
The Mentors were then presented with certificates and a little set of side mirrors as they said a huge thank-you to Craig, Lisa and Robin for making this a fun experience.
