2023 Giving Day

On Tuesday March 7, 2023, Cottage by the Sea is having a Giving Day that will harness the generosity of our community to raise funds to support more children and families.

Cottage is enormously proud to be an independent Australian children’s charity that does not rely on government funding and it has no affiliations with any religious organisations. To maintain our high quality of children’s programs and family respite, we rely solely on the generosity and support from individuals, trusts and corporations.

The mission of Cottage by the Sea is to enhance the lives of children in need by providing inspiration, fun and opportunity within a holiday environment.

Unfortunately, the effects of COVID mean there is an even greater number of Australian children considered at risk of poorer health, education and life outcomes. We are facing a mental health crisis, being identified as a “shadow pandemic” that will have immense impact on the lives of young people.

An increasing number of families are accessing our respite facility at Cottage by the Sea, which provides a chance for families in crisis to get away from their day-to-day life for a short seaside break. Fundraising will continue throughout 2023 for the redevelopment of Riptide Cottage, which will help more children and families in need.
