News Updates

I have been busy the past month travelling all over Melbourne collecting wonderful donations to ensure our campers have a special time, not just at Christmas, but all year. This has been alongside speaking to groups and delivering our new calendars to our generous supporters.

Some memorable moments from November:

Upon visiting the Bayswater Ladies Probus Club, Irene McCormack presented me with two beautiful patchwork quilts donated for our children along with lots of other goodies.

I attended the Salvation Army Companion Club in Camberwell for lunch to accept financial and in kind donations from this dedicated group. The photo below shows Scott, Choir Master of Mount Evelyn Christian School with Judith Weston, organiser of the Club and her daughter Narelle Sketcher (Principal of Mount Evelyn Christian School and also Vice-President of the Cottage by the Sea Board) in front of the school bus. The school choir visited the Club providing beautiful entertainment, followed by a scrumptious afternoon tea.

I was referred by a Probus Club member to 94.1 FM Radio Commentator, Iain Messer, to conduct a radio interview in the Whitehorse/Box Hill area.

A guest speaking engagement and luncheon at the Country Women’s Association head office in Toorak to address the group and accept a donation from their International and Community Support Committee was a lovely afternoon.

As was visiting Hillross Financial Group, Blackburn who are posting 400 of our 2018 calendars to their clients to assist in spreading the word.

I can be reached at [email protected] or on 0412 431 233 if you are after a guest speaker or donation collection in the Melbourne Metropolitan area.
