We spotted a seal on Take a Break!

It was an exciting rock-pooling session this week on the Take a Break program. Not because of what the program participants found under the rocks, but because of what they saw on the rocks.

At first, one of the children thought they could see a big rock moving – but that couldn’t be possible, so a closer inspection was needed.

As the group approached slowly, they started to notice that it was a fury rock moving. In fact, it was an Australian Fur Seal!

All the children made sure to keep their distance from the seal as they can sometimes be unpredictable, but we were close enough to take a few snaps as we snuck past him and around the bluff.

The children were all so excited to see a seal up close and for some, it was a highlight of the program!
