Cottage by the Sea is the proud charity partner of the 2023 Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour to Queenscliff. Celebrating the tour yesterday was an incredible day for our community. From starting at 7am at the Queenscliff Lonsdale Yacht Club for a seaside breakfast to finishing at 8pm with a phenomenal cocktail fundraiser at Suma Park, it was a huge day of celebrations. Events like this reinforce the importance of “community”, which is one of our values at Cottage.
As part of yesterday’s events, our visiting children on this week’s program were able to meet two Melbourne Cup-winning horses and feel the Cup in their own hands – some participants were even able to hand-feed carrots to the horses. We aim for experiences at Cottage to leave a lasting impact on children, and yesterday’s visit from the Cup is no exception to this.
A spectacular celebration like this doesn’t come without a huge team working tirelessly behind the scenes to make everything happen. Thank you to the generous support of the community organisations and supporters below that helped bring this day of events to life.
In addition, a big thank you to everyone at Cottage by the Sea – including staff and volunteers, visiting teachers and participants – for helping to make the day such a success and giving our community a wonderful and memorable event.
