Beach fun on Take a Break

Our Stories

What a perfect week of weather for our first Take a Break program of the year.

The sun was shining for the visiting children as they arrived at Cottage, and we wasted no time having lunch and getting into wetsuits. As we made our way down to the beach, we could see the stunning blue ocean and exposed rock pools. The kids were very excited as they carefully stepped across the rocks, before taking it in turns jumping into the rock pools. Some of the children wore snorkel masks as they held their breath and tried to spot the fish.

On day two, the children all gathered for a game of dodgeball. As the whistle blew, they all ran in to collect the dye-soaked sponges before throwing them at each other, leaving a few children with green hands and feet. With boogie boards tucked under our arms, we headed to the beach for another fun session. There were loads of smiles as the children whizzed by on the bubbly white water.

We saved the best for last on day three. We headed back down to the beach for another fun session. This time, we packed the surfboards and stand up paddle boards. The kids had a ball trying to stand up on the boards as the tiny waves tried to knock them off. We lined all the boards up, and one by one they ran across them before falling into the water.
