Cottage by the Sea Annual Fair 2024

Events

On Saturday January 13, 2024 from 9am–2pm, Cottage by the Sea will host its Annual Fair at 29 Flinders Street in Queenscliff. The Annual Fair is Cottage’s longest-running fundraiser. Originally an Annual Picnic, the children’s charity has records of the fundraiser dating back to 1924.

“Our Annual Fair has been operating for almost 100 years and is a chance for the community to all come together and grab some wonderful bargains, delicious food, and have a fun day out at one of Queenscliff’s great locations,” said Adam Wake, Cottage by the Sea CEO.

There will be a range of different stalls supporting us on the day. From egg and bacon rolls to a BBQ lunch, barista coffee, homemade cakes, jams, lemon cordial and Devonshire tea, there will be plenty of edible goods to enjoy. The Fair will also include pop-up market stalls selling jewellery, pots and plants, second-hand books and clothing.

The Harvey family and Harvey’s of Highton have been significantly supporting the Fair for more than 20 years by donating the fresh fruit and vegetables for sale. Sadly, this year they are unable to donate their wholesale produce to the Fair due to the challenging climate conditions experienced within the fruit and vegetable industry over the past week. We thank the Harvey family/Harvey’s of Highton/Harvey’s Fruit and Veg Wholesaler for their partnership and continued support of Cottage by the Sea.

Cottage by the Sea staff, Board members, Branch members, Volunteers, supporters, sponsors and the community all contribute to the Fair’s success and help make the day run smoothly. The Fair attracts thousands of people each year.

Entry to Cottage’s Annual Fair is by gold coin donation. We invite everyone to bring their family and friends to join in on the fun. The combined support of the community will help us bring more inspiration, fun and opportunity to more children.
