Cottage by the Sea’s Annual Fair raises more than $75,000!

On Saturday January 13, Cottage by the Sea raised more than $75,000 at its Annual Fair. More than 2,500 people were in attendance at Cottage’s longest-running fundraiser. All of the funds raised from the Annual Fair will go directly to Cottage by the Sea programs.

“The support of our community, as always, is amazing. We can’t wait to spend the funds raised on our programs to bring more kids to Cottage – the need for our support is only growing,” said Bill Kerr from Strategic Partnerships at Cottage by the Sea.

“Our Annual Fair represents the power and generosity of our community. We were thrilled to see so many people enjoying a fun day out at Cottage while supporting such a worthwhile cause. The community support reinforces our strong sense of belonging as a values-based organisation,” said Adam Wake, Cottage by the Sea CEO.

“The sense of goodwill throughout the day was palpable, as was excitement at the announcement of the final, record-breaking financial result. For those who do not know, our amazing team of staff back up this day by donating their time, joining an already large team of volunteers to make it all happen. No one is paid to be here on the day. Thank you all,” continued Wake.

A range of different stalls supported us on the day – from egg and bacon rolls to a BBQ lunch, barista coffee, homemade cakes, jams, lemon cordial and Devonshire tea. The Fair also included pop-up market stalls selling jewellery, pots and plants, second-hand books and clothing.

The Harvey family and Harvey’s of Highton have been supporting the Fair for more than 20 years by donating the fresh fruit and vegetables for sale. Sadly, this year they were unable to donate their wholesale produce due to the challenging climate conditions experienced recently within the fruit and vegetable industry. We thank the Harvey family/Harvey’s of Highton/Harvey’s Fruit and Veg Wholesaler for their partnership and continued support of Cottage by the Sea, and extend our heartfelt feelings of concern to the growers doing it so tough.

Cottage by the Sea staff, Board members, Branch members, Ambassadors, volunteers, supporters, sponsors and the community all contributed to the Fair’s success, giving freely of their time, and helped make the day run smoothly.
