Melbourne Community Relations update

News Updates

Here is an update from our Melbourne Community Relations representative, Donna Campisi:

Thank you to everyone who has supported Cottage by the Sea so far in 2024 as an individual or community group in Melbourne. It has been a delight to catch up with you.

A special mention and thank you to our new Melbourne community supporters who have invited me to their gatherings or homes, and kindly donate to Cottage by the Sea:

  • Kingston Heath Probus Club
  • Margaret
  • Probus Club of Altona Inc.
  • Hoppers Club Ltd. Social Travel Club
  • BlueCross Highgrove
  • Bree Turnbull
  • Phyllis Hofman
  • Barbara Pike
  • Carmel Turner

I want to share an inspiring and encouraging story with you. I was invited to attend the Lions Club of Glenroy’s Australia Day Volunteer Award presentation, as the Hadfield Community Activities Group – who have been gathering for more than 35 years every Tuesday – were nominated for the award this year.

They are a creative group of 22 women who make gorgeous knitted items for children at Cottage by the Sea. They also donate toys, puzzles, toiletries and games for the children. They have been donating to Cottage since 2009. Good news … they won the well-deserved 2024 Lions Club of Glenroy’s Australia Day Volunteer Award! Congratulations from all the team at Cottage.

I always encourage our wonderful Melbourne supporters to visit Cottage by the Sea in Queenscliff. Bring a friend, make a day of it and see the magic of Cottage for yourselves. In addition, if you are in Melbourne and would like a visit, please let us know by emailing [email protected] or calling 0436 191 010.
